4 Tips to Grab Readers Attention This Fall

4 Tips to Grab Readers Attention This Fall

‘Tis the season where everyone is settling into their new fall marketing plan. This would be a good time for you to check that your social media channels are promoting, not hindering your business.

The following tips should be helpful:

~ Make you website mobile friendly. Have you ever checked it out? Make sure your content is comfortable to read on all devices – computers, phones and tablets of all sizes? Not only check on your own electronics but also get an opinion from your friends or colleagues if they happen to have a different type of device than yours.

~ Do a quick checkup of your directory listings (Google Places, Yelp, Yahoo Local, Microsoft Bing etc.) Search engines prefer that you have a phone number, address and hours of operation make sure you’ve registered your business. It’s free and only takes a few minutes to set up.

~ Ramp Up Your Social Media Presence. You can build the best blue widget in the world but will anyone hear about it? It’s awfully noisy out there on the internet.

Spread the word through social media and make sure everyone finds out about you. Post, comment, and share on several of the social media platforms, but just make sure you make your presence known in the network where your future customers like to hang out.Your followers enjoy reading your posts and they’ll most likely be sharing some of them within their own personal networks. Wouldn’t it be great if one of your posts went viral!

~ Advertise your fall specials and make them easy to find on your website. Invest in some Facebook ads if that’s where your potential clients hang out. You can link your ads and other offers to your website or direct your twitter readers to a sign-up page. Just don’t overdo it and become a nuisance.

Gary Vaynerchuk wrote an excellent book on selling without being a nuisance, ‘Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook’. In a nutshell (no offence Gary) It means you should give your audience as much value as you can.

First Post something funny. Second Post something informative. Third post something inspiring. Then…The Right Hook ~ Your Product or Service Offered up on a tantalizing platter.

Great reminder about checking directory listings! So often we set those up as a special project, then forget all about them. Every once in a while I find one that doesn’t reflect my current service offerings well at all.
